Violinist Erika-Joy Syroid resides in Los Angeles, but has an affinity for Nevada, where she was a longtime resident and Montana, her home state. Her inspiration for music comes from a European background with loving parents and a strong love of nature.

Eclectic in her musical tastes, Erika is comfortable with all musical styles and her experiences reflect that broad spectrum. In December, 2001 she played in various orchestral and chamber groups, techno with George Sarah, appeared with hip-hop artist Mary J. Blige in the Video Awards and toured with Andea Bocelli. Throughout the years she has graced the stage of more than two hundred acts, including Sammy Davis Jr., Johnny Mathis, Henry Mancini, Led Zeppelin, Celin Dion, Smokey Robinson, Nancy Wilson, The Who, and has toured with Diana Ross and Frank Sinatra.

Since moving to California in 2000, Syroid has played on many recordings, shows, and in several orchestras, including Mesto. Recent opportunities have included playing at Fox Studios on the movie X-Men, and performing at the 74th Academy Awards Governor's Ball.

Erika began playing on John Miner's projects in 1994. John's creativity is a spark for the musician's imagination and a challenge for those he chooses to make music with. John's music is most definitely part of the spiritual evolution.

In the spring of 2001, Erika recorded Forever Again with Carl Saunders playing his tunes on the piano. Erika is dedicating this CD to her son Christopher Thomas Doran, born Feb. 14,1971, who passed away too soon, but continues to light our paths on this leap of faith we call life.

The melodies and harmonies of Carl's compositions begin to shine with a unique color in the rich and clear texture and blend of violin with piano. The understated delivery offers subtle inflections of a feeling from another time and place.
